In a brief opening statement the SLIE President Ing Prof Jonas Redwood Sawyerr noted that the donation was a collaboration between registered Engineers of the Institution and non registered Engineers, to show the Junior staff that they are appreciated for their work especially as they have had to work at the campus during the current health challenges.

Ing Horatio Max Gorvie, the coordinator for the project, buttressed the SLIE President’s comments and thanked the staff for their hard work throughout the years. He said the Project was a 3 part project in response to the covid-19 pandemic and encouraged all Engineers to work in a collaborative manner to ensure our goals are achieved. He noted that the next phase of the project involves building a triage centre at one of the proposed facilities earmarked by the EOC for isolation of COVID-19 patients.
